Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Ripley Medical Centre for a Receptionist Team Leader following restructuring of our Reception Admin Team.

The role will entail the smooth running of reception and leadership of the reception team. As well as reception duties and leadership roles you will report to the Deputy Practice Manager on future development of the team and processes to ensure a high quality of patient care is delivered. 

Main duties of the job

  • Deal with all general enquiries
  • To oversee the work of the reception team on a day-to-day basis,
  • To provide a suitable rota for the reception team to meet the needs of the Practice population and to fulfil Practice contractual requirements.
  • To assist with recruitment, induction and training.
  • Supervision of all reception staff, ensuring they are fully trained in policies and procedures relevant to their work.
  • To ensure tasks and electronic letters are allocated and completed in a timely manner.
  • To assist in the reception team’s 1-2-1’s.
  • Receive and make telephone calls as required. 
  • Enter requests for home visits into the Practice system.
  • Action repeat prescription requests.
  • Advise patients of relevant charges for private services, accept payment and issue receipts.
  • Undertake chaperone duties.
  • Attend meetings and cascade all relevant information to the Reception Team.
  • Processing of Private Work Requests.
  • Running of Screening and Immunisations Programmes admin.
  • Reception Duties.
  • To ensure relevant information is made available to patients.
  • Other duties response to additional service needs.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good Standard of General Education
  • Good understanding of IT platforms

  • NVQ level 4 of Management or equivalent

Experience and Knowledge
